01
Acceptance & Platform Scope
Rules governing account registration, platform access, and binding agreement under Ethiopian law.

By creating an account, browsing listings, or using AutoEthiopia services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease using the platform.

Key Compliance Notes:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or possess legal capacity in Ethiopia.
  • Agreement applies to all buyers, private sellers, and verified auto dealers.

AutoEthiopia operates in Amharic and English for Ethiopia (am-ET & en-ET). In case of any linguistic ambiguity, the authoritative English text shall govern to the extent permitted by the laws of Ethiopia.

02
Seller Rules & Listing Integrity
Mandatory verification, accurate specs, genuine vehicle photos, and contact book requirements.

All sellers must undergo identity verification before publishing vehicle listings. Private sellers must verify via a valid Ethiopian National ID (Fayda), and commercial dealers must maintain active Trade License verification.

Key Compliance Notes:

  • No fraudulent, stolen, or misrepresented vehicles permitted.
  • Listings require at least 1 saved verified seller contact snapshot.
  • Chassis VIN and registration paperwork must match listing specs.

Photos must show the actual vehicle being offered. Watermarked stock photography, misleading digital edits, or concealed damage are strictly prohibited. Free-text listing descriptions must be bilingual or confirmed for auto-translation.

03
AI Valuation & Concierge Terms
Understanding AI price estimates, condition reports, and non-binding concierge advice.

AutoEthiopia AI Engine valuations, market trend charts, and price intelligence tags ('Great Deal', 'Fair Price') are algorithmic estimates generated from current market data. They do not constitute formal legal appraisals, mechanical guarantees, or financial advice.

Key Compliance Notes:

  • Buyers should conduct independent physical pre-purchase inspections (PPI).
  • Sellers retain full autonomy to set their asking prices.

Conversations with the AutoEthiopia AI Assistant are recorded to improve search recommendations and prevent fraud. Do not submit sensitive passwords or financial credentials into AI chat prompts.

04
Payments, Subscriptions & Refunds
Subscription billing schedules, paid rank visibility, transparent labeling, and refund policies.

Seller Pro, Dealer Fleet, and Enterprise plans offer flexible 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month commitment durations. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.

Key Compliance Notes:

  • Per-card commitment discounts apply to the selected billing period.
  • Price changes do not affect active pre-paid subscription cycles.

All promoted placements (Featured, Urgent, Homepage, For You) carry explicit visual labels. Paid promotion increases listing exposure but does not guarantee a sale.

Promotional boost packages are non-refundable once activated. Subscription plan changes take effect immediately with prorated adjustments or at the start of the next billing cycle.

05
Prohibited Conduct & Enforcement
Zero-tolerance rules against scrapers, fake leads, harassment, and security bypass attempts.

Users must not scrape inventory, deploy automated bots, post spam, harass marketplace participants, upload malicious payloads, or attempt to reverse-engineer platform APIs.

AutoEthiopia reserves the right to remove non-compliant listings, freeze accounts under fraud investigation, or revoke dealer storefront access to protect marketplace integrity.

06
Liability & Ethiopian Governing Law
Limitation of liability, third-party transactions, and exclusive Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia courts jurisdiction.

AutoEthiopia acts as a technology venue connecting buyers and sellers. Inspection, vehicle transfer, payment, and registration paperwork remain the direct responsibility of the transacting parties.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any legal disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Ethiopia, including the Federal Courts in Addis Ababa.
